No matter what you have planned for your day — whether it’s a night spent with friends, or an excruciating study session that you just can’t seem to focus on (tutors, anyone?) — listening to music always helps to shape the mood. To that end, I’ve created three different playlists every student needs for three different occasions. Check them out! Listen to them! After all, who doesn’t love discovering new music?
1. Studying
Something I struggle with at times is that I’m very easily distracted. This can be a major problem when I need to study — and not studying in college is like asking for a stress meltdown!
Music is one of the few things that really grounds me when I can’t focus. Whether you’re easily distracted or not, here’s a playlist that’s good for anyone looking to throw on some soft background music as they hit the books (or even just as they relax).
2. Night Out
You know that excited feeling you have when you’re getting ready for a night out after what seems like a lifetime of being bombarded by schoolwork? Some of my best memories involve driving around with friends and screaming the lyrics to our favorite songs. (The time three of us belted “Come on Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners into one microphone at karaoke also comes to mind!)
When it’s time for a fun night out, you need music to match the mood so you can create great (and sometimes embarrassing) memories. Here’s a playlist I hope will help.
3. Personal Favorites
Something you’ve probably realized by now is that I love music. I’ve found a lot of inspiration in the music I listen to with regard to things like my style and my art.
I wanted to share my passion with other students, so I was really excited to create these playlists! Here are some of my personal favorites. I hope they will inspire you and open doors to discovering new genres or artists!
