Being a student has its pros and cons, but saving money on products and services — just because you’re getting an education — is one of the best parts. Saving money is never a bad thing, and luckily, there are many businesses willing to help. As a matter of fact, in my time at Eastern Florida State College, I’ve found that student discounts and deals exist almost everywhere. After all, even if they’re a small help (like 10% off), every little bit counts. Unless you hate saving money, check out the list below, which contains discounts on technology and education resources, deals on food (every college student’s dream), subscriptions for the soul, and even a couple of apps!

Overall, a membership usually costs $120 per month, but students can get one for $108 per month (a 10% savings). In fact, EFSC law enforcement and fire academy students pay only $75 per month. In short, the membership includes stress inoculation, rookie mind training, first responder/military training, mental toughness training, air traffic controller response training, lawyer stress training, stress relief training and alcohol anonymous/narcotics assistance.
AMC Theatres

In short, students can purchase a regular ticket for just $8.19 or a 3D ticket for $11.19. That also leaves you some money for popcorn!

Feeling creative? Then save on Adobe products! Adobe offers students their entire Adobe Creative Cloud with over 20 apps for just $19.99 a month for one year, then $29.99 after that.
Amazon
Significantly, Amazon offers a Prime Student membership, which gives you a six-month free trial of their Prime services. Afterward, you can pay $6.49 a month or $59 a year. That’s 50% off the regular price until you graduate!
Apple
In short, find discounts on things like iMacs, laptops, iPads, Mac Minis and AppleCare.
Banks
Major banks, such as Chase Bank or PNC Bank, often offer student accounts without any monthly fees. Other companies, such as Discover and U.S. Bank, offer student credit cards with lower interest rates and other perks. (For example, Discover has a “good grades” incentive that gives you a $20 credit when you keep your GPA at 3.0 or higher). No matter where you bank, if you’re in college, then you should always ask about student accounts. They can help you save money and build credit more easily.
Best Buy
Once you’ve created an account, click on your “member offers” page, and you’ll find seasonal student deals on many of their products and services.
Car Insurance
I’ve verified that Allstate, GEICO, State Farm, Travelers, Farmers, Nationwide and Progressive all offer student discounts. Most of them are based on good grades and your age. Call and speak to an agent to find out if you’re eligible for any savings.
Corel
Corel has a large collection of software pertaining to illustration, design, digital painting, digital media, and office productivity, with great discounts for students.
Evernote
Create an account to get 50% off one year of Evernote’s services, and help keep all your notes and related educational materials in one place, like the cloud.
Eyeconic
Check out a wide range of glasses styles and contacts, all at 10% off.
EZ Rent-A-Car
While you’re a student, you can enjoy 10% off your rental.
FedEx
Save 30% on a document with FedEx Envelop/Pak and 20% on a package with FedEx IP service as a member of their Student Discount Club.
GameSalad
Create an account to get 50% off their software, and start learning computer coding by building games!
General Motors (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC)
While you’re a college student, you’re eligible for special offers on General Motors’ fleet of cars, trucks, and SUVs. Check out their website for current offers and deals on financing.
Greyhound
Greyhound bus services basically offers 10% off travel and 15% off shipping with a Student Advantage Card. Visit their site to sign up for one today.
Headspace
Get an annual subscription for $9.99 instead of the usual cost ($95.88), and enjoy access to Headspace’s full library of guided mediations, fun animations and sleep space.
Lenovo
Lenovo offers students an extra 5% off purchases for everything they have to offer. Just select the student discount in your cart.

New York Times

Spotify
If you’re a brand new user, then you can get Spotify Premium, Hulu, and Showtime for only $0.99 a month for the first three months. After that (or for existing users switching over to the student plan), it’s $4.99 a month for all three services for up to four years.

Save 50% on Squarespace website and commerce plans for one year.
UNiDAYS and Student Beans
Download either of these apps, create an account with your regular email, and activate the account by linking your student email to it. All of a sudden, you’ll have about a million discounts and deals on food, fashion, travel, and more right at your fingertips! These days, I check these apps before I buy anything, because the deals are constantly changing, and you never know if there might be a discount.
Wall Street Journal
The WSJ gives students a full subscription for $1 per week for 15 weeks. All things considered, that’s a great deal!
YouTube Music
Get the standard one-month free trial, then pay $4.99 a month as opposed to the full price of $9.99 a month.
YouTube Premium
Get the standard one-month free trial, then pay $6.99 a month as opposed to the full price of $11.99 a month.
You learn a lot at college, but it usually comes with a cost. I’ve made it a habit to save my pennies and always look for student discounts, because they often exist. In the end, don’t be afraid to do your own research or ask if a local business would be willing to give you a discount. And if you haven’t already done so, apply to Eastern Florida State College today to start saving on all these great products and services!
