5 ‘Next Steps’ after Graduation

Congratulations, graduating class! We hope you’ll take every opportunity to celebrate your achievement with friends and family. As you continue your professional journey, here are five “next steps” you can take after graduation with a little help from your alma mater.

1. Join the Alumni Association

See all those students in caps and gowns? They’re your fellow alumni, and you can stay connected to them (and thousands of others before them) by joining the EFSC Alumni Association. It’s completely free, and comes with many perks, including special invitations to EFSC events, networking opportunities, and discounts. Don’t forget: You can also join the EFSC Foundation and Alumni Association Facebook page!

2. Visit the Career Center

Ready to take your next step into your career? Even if you aren’t a currently enrolled student, you have lifetime access to Career Services, where you can get help writing your resume and cover letter, practice for an upcoming interview, and work one-on-one with a Career Center Coordinator to have all your questions answered.

3. Subscribe to the College Blog

Keep a steady stream of “best practice” professional tips and interviews with EFSC students/alumni in your inbox by subscribing to the Splash of the Titans blog (the same one you’re reading right now)! Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and fill your information in the footer to subscribe. Here are a few posts to get you started:

4. Visit Your Campus’ Bookstore for Special Merch

From apparel to supplies, your campus’ bookstore sells all kinds of EFSC-branded merchandise. Near commencement, you can even purchase special memorabilia, such as tassels, rings, diploma frames, and more. A special keepsake from your alma mater may be the perfect way to commemorate your academic journey.

5. Leave Your EFSC Legacy with a Special Paver

The EFSC Foundation’s legacy pavers program allow alumni (and others) to commemorate their history with EFSC. Pavers are placed in the heart of EFSC’s largest campus in Melbourne in the courtyard surrounding the Student Union (Building 16). All proceeds from the legacy pavers go toward student scholarships and other EFSC initiatives. When you leave your legacy, you’re helping others to leave theirs. A paver also helps you take pride in your accomplishments! You worked hard to get where you are, so why not celebrate? Legacy pavers are a physical way to show your connection to Eastern Florida and the impact you wish to leave on your community (and beyond) in the future. Wherever you ultimately go after college, you’re leaving a memento of yourself at your alma mater, EFSC.

What’s Next?

Wherever you go, EFSC wants to celebrate with you! Be sure to follow us on social media, use our hashtags #EFSC and #EFSCGrad, and tag us in your content so we can keep up with all that you accomplish. From everyone at EFSC, we wish you the best in the next, post-graduation steps of your journey.
